Gujarat's Sporting Pride

The young athletes of Gujarat are gaining recognition in the sports arena, increasingly pursuing it as a career, inspired by the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In 2010, during his tenure as Chief Minister, he introduced the Khel Mahakumbh initiative. This program has revitalized the sports scene, encouraging talent to emerge from even the most remote regions, as highlighted in a statement from the Gujarat Chief Minister's Office.

World Athletics Day: A Celebration of Fitness

Every year on May 7, World Athletics Day is celebrated to promote awareness among youth regarding the significance of fitness, discipline, and sports. The theme for 2026, 'Sport: Building Bridges, Breaking Barriers', emphasizes athletics' role in empowering youth and fostering unity, equality, and social cohesion through physical activities.

Athletics: The Foundation of Sports

Athletics serves as the cornerstone of all sports, laying the groundwork for comprehensive athletic development. The competitions held under the Khel Mahakumbh initiative in Gujarat are advancing this vision by offering athletes, from villages to state levels, a platform to display their skills.
