Gujarat Government Unveils Enhanced Educational Websites
Revamped Educational Portals Launched
Gandhinagar, Aug 13: The Gujarat administration has officially relaunched nine upgraded websites under its Education Department on Wednesday.
This initiative was spearheaded by Rushikesh Patel, the Minister for Higher and Technical Education, with the presence of Praful Pansheriya, the Minister of State for Primary, Secondary, and Adult Education.
The total investment for the development of these enhanced websites amounts to Rs 50.11 lakh, aimed at providing students and citizens with quick and easy digital access to essential information, including educational policies, circulars, scholarship details, government schemes, and the latest sector initiatives.
During the launch event, Minister Rushikesh Patel emphasized that this project is in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047 and Viksit Gujarat@2047, underscoring the government's commitment to improving digital infrastructure for effective governance and service delivery.
"These platforms will facilitate the rapid and transparent dissemination of crucial educational information to the public," he remarked.
Minister Praful Pansheriya further noted that the upgraded websites will enhance accessibility to scholarship programs, state education policies, and new initiatives, fostering greater inclusivity in information sharing.
The nine relaunched websites encompass portals for the Commissioner of Higher Education, NCC Directorate, Directorate of Primary Education, Directorate of Continuing Education and Literacy, State Examination Board, Gujarat Institute of Educational Technology, Gujarat State School Textbook Board, and the Gujarat Council of Educational Research and Training.
In the 2025–26 budget for Gujarat, Finance Minister Kanu Desai has allocated a significant Rs 59,999 crore for the education sector.
Key allocations include Rs 2,914 crore for the Mission Schools of Excellence (aiming to upgrade 25,000 classrooms), Rs 1,250 crore for the Namo Lakshmi Yojana, Rs 782 crore for RTE (private school admissions), and ₹250 crore for the Namo Saraswati Science Scheme, which will benefit around 2.5 lakh students.
Additional funding includes Rs 617 crore for nutritious midday meals, Rs 175 crore for AI labs in technical institutions, Rs 100 crore for the newly proposed Gujarat Institute of Technology (GIT), and resources for scholarships, smart classrooms, and the hiring of 22,000 teachers, reflecting a comprehensive strategy to modernize education throughout the state.
