Gujarat CM Urges Voters for Full Participation in Local Elections

Call for Voter Engagement in Local Elections

On Saturday, Bhupendra Patel, the Chief Minister of Gujarat, appealed to the state's electorate to ensure 100% voter turnout in the local body elections scheduled for Sunday, referring to it as a 'sacred festival of democracy.'

These elections will see a total of 9,992 candidates contesting for 15 municipal corporations, 84 municipalities, 34 district panchayats, and 260 taluka panchayats, marking it as the largest electoral process in the state.

More than 4.18 crore voters are eligible to exercise their voting rights in the upcoming elections.

Voting will commence at 7 AM and conclude at 6 PM, with the counting of votes set for April 28. In his message to citizens ahead of the elections, the Chief Minister emphasized that each vote holds the power to accelerate development at every level, from villages to talukas, districts, and cities. He described this participation as invaluable for the state's progress.

Patel encouraged voters to motivate their families, friends, and neighbors to participate in the elections and commit to achieving full voter turnout. He also extended best wishes to first-time voters and urged the youth to actively engage in the democratic process.
