Promoting Good Governance in Gujarat

To enhance the values of good governance across the nation, the birthday of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna recipient Atal Bihari Vajpayee is celebrated as "Good Governance Day" on December 25. Inspired by these principles, the Gujarat government, under Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel's leadership, has launched several initiatives aimed at the holistic welfare of its citizens. One significant initiative is the Chief Minister's Nutritional Snack Scheme, which empowers children's education by ensuring adequate nutrition. Currently, over 400,000 students across Gujarat are benefiting from this program.

Emphasizing Nutrition and Education

According to an official statement, the Chief Minister highlighted the importance of nutrition alongside education, stating that this initiative provides fresh and nutritious snacks in addition to the midday meals offered in government schools. As a result, there has been an increase in student interest and a notable improvement in their nutritional levels. The state government is also fully committed to ensuring that essential facilities such as modern classrooms, drinking water, electricity, toilets, sanitation, and transportation are adequately available in government schools.

Commitment to Welfare and Development

During his three-year tenure, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has set new standards for governance, service, and development by implementing welfare schemes that ensure comprehensive growth in the state. Notably, he launched this initiative on December 11, 2024. According to the press release, the primary goal of this scheme, initiated under the Suposhit Gujarat Mission, is to guarantee that students in government and grant-aided primary schools receive nutritious snacks in addition to the midday meals provided under the PM Nutrition Scheme.
