Jaipur Hosts the 78th Army Day Parade
Jaipur, January 15: This morning, the 78th Army Day Parade commenced in Jaipur, showcasing the discipline, strength, bravery, and advanced military capabilities of the Army to a large audience on Mahal Road in Jagatpura.
This year's parade is particularly noteworthy as it takes place outside a traditional military cantonment, marking a unique event in this context.
The festivities began with a 10-minute award ceremony honoring courageous women. The display included a variety of tableaux, tanks, artillery, missiles, and cutting-edge weaponry, highlighting the Army's operational readiness and technological advancements.
Mizoram Governor VK Singh served as the chief guest, with notable attendees including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, and Deputy CM Diya Kumari.
High-ranking military officials were present, including Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan and Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, along with numerous senior officers from the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
Earlier, senior military leaders paid floral tributes at the Prerna Sthal in the Army cantonment before arriving at the parade venue via an air cavalcade.
In a stunning display, Army combat helicopters released flower petals during the parade, while Jaguar fighter jets from the Indian Air Force executed an exhilarating aerial flypast, earning enthusiastic applause from the thousands of attendees, including youth, students, and local residents.
The parade featured awardees of the Param Vir Chakra, Ashok Chakra, and Maha Vir Chakra leading the march, instilling a strong sense of patriotism. Marching contingents included soldiers from the Bhairav Battalion, 61 Cavalry, Rajput Regiment, Madras Regiment, and Garhwal Regiment.
The tableaux celebrated Rajasthan's vibrant folk art and culture, alongside highlights from ‘Operation Sindoor’. Additionally, a performance by the Nepali Army band contributed an international touch to the event.
