Bundi. On Wednesday, Governor Hari Bhau Bagde convened a detailed review meeting with district-level officials at the district collectorate auditorium. During this session, he emphasized the effective implementation of the 'Drug-Free India Campaign' and the 'National Tuberculosis (TB) Elimination Program'. He also highlighted the importance of promoting moral education in educational institutions to foster character development among students.
Addressing the meeting, Governor Bagde stated that the central government has prioritized the Drug-Free India Campaign. He urged that the initiative should begin within government departments. Officials and employees should refrain from substance abuse to serve as role models for the public. He instructed education department officials to ensure that teachers in colleges and schools pay special attention to this matter. Regular creative activities should be organized in schools to facilitate intellectual growth among students.
Support for Women Empowerment and Community Outreach
The Governor remarked that the youth represent the true strength of the nation, and it is our collective responsibility to protect them from the clutches of addiction. By promoting moral values in educational institutions, the rising trend of substance abuse in society can be curtailed. He stressed that this campaign should not be limited to schools but should also be widely promoted in rural areas. Greater public participation should be ensured, and the support of women should be fully utilized in building a drug-free society.
While reviewing the National TB Elimination Program, the Governor directed the health department to promptly identify TB patients so that treatment can begin immediately. Awareness programs should be conducted at the village panchayat level to eradicate TB completely. He called upon officials to work towards the goal of a 'TB-Free Bundi'. Emphasizing door-to-door surveys and screenings, he noted that timely treatment can save many lives. In addition to free medication, patients should receive regular nutrition kits through the 'Nikshay Mitra' initiative to ensure complete treatment. The meeting also included a review of the water supply program, with necessary directives given to the officials.
Present at the meeting were District Collector Harphool Singh Yadav, Superintendent of Police Avneesh Kumar Sharma, Additional District Collector (Sealing) Ramesh Dev, along with various heads of district-level departments.
