Government Takes Strong Measures Ahead of NEET-UG 2026 Re-Examination

In a decisive move to uphold the integrity of the NEET-UG 2026 examination, the government has imposed a temporary ban on Telegram until June 22. This action aims to address concerns about exam security and prevent leaks. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has also launched a reporting portal for candidates to report suspicious activities. With recent channels promoting paper leaks, the NTA emphasizes the importance of relying on official sources for information. Candidates are urged to report any unauthorized claims or fraudulent activities to ensure a fair examination process.

Government's Action to Ensure Exam Integrity

The central government has implemented a significant and stringent measure just before the re-examination of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG 2026). Amid concerns regarding the security and transparency of the exam, a temporary ban has been placed on the popular messaging app Telegram until June 22. According to an official statement from the National Testing Agency (NTA), this decision was made under the Information Technology Act to ensure that the upcoming examination is completely fair and leak-proof.

The NTA's announcement stated, "A directive has been issued under Section 69A of the IT Act 2020, which imposes a temporary restriction on the use of the Telegram platform in India until June 22." This directive follows responses from the NTA and the Ministry of Education, as channels openly operating under names like 'Paper Leaked NEET', 'Re-NEET 2026', 'Private Mafia', and 'Ree NEET Mafiaa' have surfaced on the platform in recent weeks.

Previously, the NTA had launched a dedicated portal for students, parents, coaching institutions, and the general public to report any suspicious claims, unauthorized content, or fraudulent activities related to the NEET (UG)-2026 exam scheduled for June 21.

To ensure fairness, transparency, and integrity in public examinations, the NTA has established a platform for reporting fake websites, claims of paper leaks, and other suspicious activities associated with the NEET UG 2026 re-exam.

In a social media post, the NTA emphasized that no one possesses the question paper before the exam and advised candidates to rely solely on official sources for updates. The agency stated, "Do not let rumors dictate your NEET (UG) 2026 journey. No one has the question paper before the exam. If you encounter any fake websites, offers of 'leaked papers', or individuals posing as NTA officials, report them. We are here for you."

What to Report

The NTA has urged candidates to promptly report any suspicious activities related to the exam, including:

Unauthorized websites, social media accounts, or messaging channels claiming access to the NEET (UG) 2026 question paper or answer key.

Individuals or groups claiming to provide exam content, leaked papers, or guaranteed results in exchange for money or other favors.

People impersonating NTA officials, exam staff, or government representatives. Any activity or content aimed at misleading, deceiving, or causing panic among candidates and their families.

Where to Report

The NTA has instructed candidates to report suspicious activities through its dedicated reporting portal and reminded them to verify all exam-related information only from the official NTA and NEET websites.

It stated, "Users can provide details about the nature of the incident, the platform or channel where it was observed, the date and time of the incident, and upload evidence such as screenshots, links, or documents wherever available."
