Government's Firm Stance on Child Exploitation


New Delhi: In a decisive move, the Indian government has issued a serious notice to Meta regarding the presence of Child Sexual Exploitative and Abuse Material (CSEAM) in paid advertisements on Instagram, as reported by sources on Sunday.


The notice was formally sent out on Saturday evening.


According to the sources, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has instructed Instagram to remove all advertisements and content that promote or facilitate access to CSEAM.


Additionally, MeitY has requested a comprehensive explanation from Meta within a week.
