Government Initiative 'Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar' Addresses Public Grievances in Chamba

The Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar initiative in Chamba, led by Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania, successfully engaged local residents in addressing their grievances. With around 400 attendees, the program facilitated immediate resolutions and showcased various departmental services. Key outcomes included land mutations, health check-ups, and distribution of relief cheques. This initiative, under Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, aims to enhance transparency and effectiveness in governance, setting it apart from previous efforts. The government’s initiative, Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar, aimed at effectively addressing public grievances, took place today at Gram Panchayat Maihla, presided over by Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania.


Residents from various Gram Panchayats including Maihla, Chadi, Phagri, Bandla, Dadhvi, and Vakan attended the event, voicing their concerns and requests. The gathering also featured MLA Neeraj Nayyar, Dr. Jankraj, along with numerous senior officials.


Approximately 400 attendees participated, presenting their complaints and benefiting from various departmental exhibitions and services. Speaker Pathania engaged directly with the community, addressing numerous issues immediately. He noted that this initiative not only facilitates prompt resolution of local grievances but also aids the government in grasping the region's requirements.


He pointed out that under Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the state government has established transparent and effective systems, distinguishing this initiative from those of prior administrations.


During the event, Speaker Pathania instructed officials to enhance road connectivity in the Bharmour constituency and assured that the request to classify non-tribal areas as tribal would be forwarded to the Central Government via the Vidhan Sabha Petition Committee.


The programme yielded significant outcomes:



  • Revenue Department processed 25 land mutations.

  • Health Department performed health check-ups for 89 individuals, provided free medications, and conducted tests for Hepatitis and HIV on 17 people. Four individuals were registered for disability certificates.

  • Aadhaar updates were completed for 8 individuals.

  • Relief cheques totaling ₹6.20 lakh were distributed to six families affected by disasters.

  • House keys were given to six beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural).

  • Insurance documents were issued to 10 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.


Moreover, prizes were awarded to winners of speech and slogan-writing contests held as part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign and the senior citizen–youth dialogue initiative.


Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal welcomed attendees, detailing the district administration's efforts to tackle public issues. The event saw participation from senior Congress leaders, district officials, and representatives from various departments.
