Collaboration Between UIDAI and Google

New Delhi, Feb 26: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has partnered with Google to showcase authorized Aadhaar centers on Google Maps, aiming to improve accessibility and convenience for citizens, as announced by the government on Thursday.

Citizens will be able to locate Aadhaar Centers based on the services they provide, such as adult enrolment, child enrolment, or updates for address and mobile numbers, according to an official statement.

This feature is anticipated to be rolled out in the upcoming months.

Details regarding center accessibility will also be included, such as facilities for differently-abled individuals, parking availability, and operating hours, further enhancing convenience for users, as stated by the Ministry of Electronics and IT.

This initiative aims to improve public convenience, reduce misinformation, and ensure that residents can easily access over 60,000 Aadhaar centers, including advanced Aadhaar Seva Kendras (ASKs) across the country. Users searching on Google Maps will be directed to verified Aadhaar centers.

“UIDAI is committed to enhancing the ease of living for Aadhaar number holders. This partnership will simplify, expedite, and clarify the process of locating authorized Aadhaar centers,” remarked Bhuvnesh Kumar, CEO of UIDAI.

In the next phase of this collaboration, UIDAI plans to utilize Google Business Profile to manage information about the centers and respond to user feedback, ensuring a transparent and responsive service environment.

The upcoming phase will also explore the possibility of direct appointment scheduling through the Google Maps interface, allowing residents to plan their visits more efficiently.

“By collaborating with UIDAI to integrate verified Aadhaar centers, we are facilitating easier access for millions of residents to trusted services, bridging the gap between essential government infrastructure and the citizens who require it,” stated Roli Agarwal, Country Head of Strategic Partnerships at Google India.
