Bail Granted to Managers of Burch by Romeo Lane Nightclub

A court in Goa has granted bail to two managers of the Burch by Romeo Lane nightclub on Tuesday. They were arrested earlier this month in connection with a tragic fire incident.

This devastating event resulted in the loss of 25 lives. District Judge D.V. Patkar approved bail for the two managers, Rajveer Singhania and Priyanshu Thakur, under certain conditions, while denying a similar request from a third manager, Vivek Singh. All three were taken into custody on December 7, a day after the catastrophic fire at the nightclub located in Arpora village, North Goa.

Advocate Vinayak Parab, representing Singhania (the bar manager) and Thakur (the gate manager), stated that the court emphasized that the applicants must not offer any inducements or threats to anyone aware of the case's facts.

The court also made it clear that both Rajveer and Priyanshu are prohibited from leaving India without prior permission. According to Parab, the court instructed that the accused must be available for questioning by the investigating officer (IO) whenever required and cooperate with the ongoing investigation.

The bail order stipulates that the applicants must appear before the investigating officer or the chief investigating officer of the Anjuna police station once a month until the charge sheet or final report is filed.

The fire at the Burch by Romeo Lane nightclub on December 6 claimed the lives of 25 individuals. So far, eight people have been arrested in connection with the case, including two co-owners of the club, Gaurav Luthra and his brother Saurabh, who were brought back to India from Thailand.
