Global Leaders Celebrate India's 80th Independence Day with Warm Wishes

New Delhi, Aug 16: On the occasion of India's 80th Independence Day, leaders from around the globe, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and French President Emmanuel Macron, extended their congratulations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed gratitude for their messages and emphasized the importance of bilateral relations.

Modi acknowledged Netanyahu's wishes, highlighting India's strong friendship with Israel and expressing hope for the enhancement of their special strategic partnership, which aims to create new opportunities and strengthen people-to-people connections.

In his message, Netanyahu congratulated India and Modi, referring to the Prime Minister as his 'dear friend.' He remarked on the shared history of independence between India and Israel, noting their collaboration towards a brighter future for both nations.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog also sent greetings to President Droupadi Murmu and Modi, expressing optimism for the continued growth of the friendship between the two nations.

He also expressed gratitude to French President Emmanuel Macron for his kind wishes on Independence Day.

Leaders from neighboring countries Bhutan and Nepal also conveyed their greetings to India. Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay sent warm wishes to Modi, hoping for the ongoing flourishing of their close ties.

In response, Modi emphasized the cherished and enduring partnership with Bhutan, which he noted is growing stronger.

Nepal's Prime Minister Balendra Shah offered heartfelt greetings and best wishes to Modi, expressing hope for the strengthening of historical ties and cooperation between Nepal and India.

In response, Modi expressed hope for the continued strengthening of India-Maldives friendship.

Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides highlighted the strategic partnership between the two countries, rooted in shared principles and interests, and committed to unlocking its full potential.

Modi thanked Christodoulides, expressing eagerness to work together to further enhance their extensive strategic partnership.
