The Iranian government's abrupt decision to shut down its airspace for nearly two hours without prior notice has jeopardized flights utilizing this route. Given the escalating tensions and security concerns in the Middle East, Indian airlines have opted to take precautionary measures.

Air India Issues Delay Warnings

In a post on social media, Air India alerted passengers about potential delays for flights typically traversing this area, noting that some flights may be canceled where rerouting is not feasible. The airline stated, "Considering the emerging situation in Iran, the subsequent airspace closure, and the safety of our passengers, Air India flights passing through this region are now utilizing alternative routes, which may lead to delays.
