Operation Sindoor: A Testament to India's Resolve

General Upendra Dwivedi, the Chief of Army Staff, emphasized that Operation Sindoor exemplified India's determination and restraint, showcasing the moral strength and professional capabilities of the nation's armed forces and youth. This operation was initiated in response to the horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam last April, resulting in the elimination of at least 100 terrorists during the nights of May 6-7.

While addressing cadets at the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Republic Day camp, General Dwivedi stated, "Operation Sindoor is a decisive demonstration of India's resolve and restraint. It reflects the moral strength and professional capabilities of our armed forces and youth." He had previously sent a stern warning to Pakistan, asserting that Operation Sindoor is ongoing and any aggressive actions from the enemy will be met with a strong response.

During the event, the Army Chief recalled the significant contributions of the NCC during last May's decisive military action. He noted that over 75,000 NCC cadets across the country volunteered tirelessly in civil defense, hospital management, disaster relief, and community service. He remarked, "Recent events have shown how capable Indian youth are. You represent the most powerful and populous segment of 'Generation Z.' Our youth are a reservoir of strength that should be harnessed with discipline, purpose, and national commitment." General Dwivedi highlighted that the NCC remains a preferred pathway for youth to join the armed forces.

He stressed the need for 'civilizational self-reliance' in thinking, technology, innovation, and character for the future. Initiatives like military cells in Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), technology clusters, and military internship programs are aimed at promoting this spirit, with plans for 2025 and 2026. He encouraged active participation in national security, innovation, and development initiatives.

General Dwivedi asserted that achieving the vision of a developed India by 2047 cannot be accomplished solely at the government level. He stated, "It will be realized by young leaders, NCC cadets, innovators, educators, engineers, doctors, soldiers, and responsible citizens like you."

He concluded with a call to action: "Let us move forward with confidence, march with discipline, innovate with integrity, and become the future leaders we seek. Together, we will build a strong, self-reliant, united, and developed India."
