Introduction to Operation Sindoor

On Thursday, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan stated that 'Operation Sindoor' marks the beginning of a 'new kind of warfare,' ensuring that India decisively defeated Pakistan during attacks.

He emphasized that, unlike traditional warfare, this conflict was fought across land, air, sea, and cyber domains.

Strategic Approach to Warfare

The senior military official noted that the initial strike during the operation was conducted at 1 AM to avoid civilian casualties across the border.

He remarked, 'This was a new type of warfare... Previously, we gauged victory by territorial gains, the number of destroyed equipment, captured prisoners, or casualties... these were linked to conventional methods of fighting.'

Technological Advancements in Warfare

General Chauhan explained, 'Here, the measure of victory was the high-tech nature of our attacks demonstrated there... Special efforts were required for precise strikes on long-range targets at night... Throughout Operation Sindoor, we decisively defeated Pakistan each time.'

Background of Operation Sindoor

'Operation Sindoor' was initiated following a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, primarily tourists.

Inspiring the Next Generation

General Chauhan encouraged a group of schoolchildren to move beyond mobile screens and the digital realm, urging them to embark on adventurous journeys that no amount of money can guarantee. He also inspired them to aspire to join the armed forces.
