Azam Khan, the lawyer representing Manojit Mishra, commented on the allegations, stating, 'The woman claims she was assaulted on college grounds. The court has approved police custody until July 1.'


Political Reactions

The incident has drawn sharp criticism from the opposition party, BJP, targeting the ruling party, TMC, and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar remarked, 'As long as Mamata Banerjee is in power, such incidents will persist. The perpetrators feel emboldened, knowing they have TMC's protection.'
