Fraudulent Raid in Delhi Jewelry Workshop Leads to Arrest

In a dramatic turn of events in Karol Bagh, Delhi, a 49-year-old man was arrested for allegedly robbing a jewelry workshop while impersonating Income Tax officials. This incident, inspired by the film 'Special 26', involved a group of suspects who executed a well-planned heist, seizing gold and other valuables. With five accomplices already in custody, the police recovered stolen gold and a motorcycle linked to the crime. The case highlights the audacity of such impersonation crimes and the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat them.
 

Arrest Made in Jewelry Heist Case

A 49-year-old man has been apprehended for allegedly posing as a member of the Income Tax Department to rob a jewelry workshop in Karol Bagh, central Delhi. This information was disclosed by the police on Wednesday.


The incident was reportedly inspired by the Bollywood film 'Special 26'. Prior to this arrest, five other individuals had already been taken into custody.


Authorities recovered 130.162 grams of stolen gold from Sheikh Akram, a resident of Madangir in South Delhi, and seized a motorcycle believed to have been used in the crime.


According to police reports, on November 27, a group of five to six individuals entered the jewelry workshop. One of the suspects was dressed in a fake Delhi police uniform, while the others impersonated tax officials.


A senior police officer stated, 'The suspects confiscated the mobile phones of the owner and employees, conducted a fake search of the premises, and escaped with approximately 1.1 kilograms of gold. Before fleeing, they also took the CCTV DVR.'
