Fraudulent Marriage Scheme Uncovered in Bharatpur, Rajasthan
Shocking Marriage Scam in Bharatpur
A troubling incident of fraud has emerged in Bharatpur district, Rajasthan, where a groom fell victim to a deceptive marriage scheme. The young man was misled by those arranging his wedding, leaving him in shock after discovering the truth. A gang operating in Bharatpur has been orchestrating fake marriages, and this particular group swindled the victim out of seven lakh rupees before arranging a marriage with a woman who was not as she appeared.
The gang presented one woman to the groom for the wedding but substituted her with another on the day of the ceremony. The marriage proceeded under the guise of a veil, and as the bride was being taken to the groom's home, he began to suspect something was amiss. Upon lifting the veil, he was stunned to find that the bride was not the woman he had been shown earlier.
After realizing the deception, the groom contacted the brokers who had arranged the marriage. They arrived at the scene, but instead of resolving the issue, they threw some of the money back at the groom and took the bride away. Feeling cheated, the groom then sought assistance from the police.
According to police reports, this case is linked to the Khoh police station. On February 9, Phoolchand Gurjar from Nangal Chaudhary, Haryana, filed a complaint against four individuals for fraudulently arranging a marriage and stealing seven lakh rupees. The victim detailed in his report that the brokers, including Bijan Gurjar from Khoh, Kartar Gurjar from Mathura, and Ravi Dhobi from Punjabi Bagh, Delhi, had arranged the marriage with a girl from his village.
While the marriage was conducted, the bride was switched at the last moment. The groom became suspicious during their return journey and discovered that the bride was not the same woman he had been shown. The actual bride, named Neha, also hails from Punjabi Bagh, Delhi.
Upon contacting the brokers again, a heated argument ensued, during which the brokers tossed some of the money back and fled with Neha. Realizing they had been scammed, Phoolchand and the groom reported the incident to the police.
Following an investigation, police arrested all four suspects on February 14 from various locations. Interrogations are ongoing, and authorities believe that this gang may be involved in similar fraudulent activities.
