Fraudulent Baba Arrested for Conning People in Aurangabad
Fraudulent Practices Exposed in Aurangabad
Who doesn't desire wealth? Almost everyone wishes to earn a substantial amount of money with minimal effort and time. To achieve this, individuals often resort to various tactics, sometimes falling victim to scams. A similar incident occurred in Aurangabad's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, where a conman claimed he could summon a rain of money.
The story began when Police Commissioner Praveen Pawar received a tip-off about suspicious individuals staying at a posh hotel near a petrol pump for several months. It was reported that these individuals were involved in superstitions and fraudulent activities. The police promptly assigned their most trusted team to investigate this mystery. Inspector Sambhaji Pawar, known for his quick wit and bravery, led his team to raid the hotel early in the morning.
Upon reaching room number 305, the police found a man named Vikas Uttarwar, who had been residing there since December 29, 2024. He claimed to be a tantric baba. In room number 412, his accomplices, Vilas Kohile and Shankar Kajale, were staying under a booking made in the name of a person from Pune. Vilas hailed from Jurud village in Vaijapur tehsil, while Shankar was from Chikalthana in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Together, they were weaving a web that caused people to lose both their dreams and hard-earned money.
The police discovered a shocking scene during their search of the rooms. The table was littered with counterfeit notes, small boxes of vermilion, dried roots, and coconuts. These items were part of the rituals used by the con artists to deceive unsuspecting victims. Just one ritual, and money would rain from the sky! This was the magical promise they made to lure their targets. A senior officer from the investigation team stated, 'These fraudsters created an atmosphere where people were compelled to hand over their savings.'
The investigation deepened during police questioning. Based on the complaint filed by Assistant Police Inspector Kashinath Mahadule, a case was registered against the trio under sections 318 and 3(5) of the Indian Penal Code. Additionally, actions were taken under the Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and Other Inhuman, Evil, and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act, 2013. The three were taken to the Kranti Chowk police station, where intensive questioning is currently underway.
