Four-Month-Old Baby Reported Missing from Jharkhand Weekly Market
Incident of Baby Theft in Jharkhand
A distressing incident has emerged from the former Singhbhum district of Jharkhand, where a four-month-old infant was reported stolen from a weekly market. Authorities shared this information on Monday.
According to police reports, a woman visited the weekly market in Rangmatia, Dumaria, accompanied by her three children on Sunday. The infant was with her during the visit.
While the mother attended to some tasks, she left the baby with her eight-year-old daughter. Seizing the opportunity, an unidentified woman approached the girl, enticing her with a promise of buying items for her in exchange for 20 rupees, while assuring her that she would take care of the baby.
As soon as the girl moved away, the unknown woman absconded with the infant. The girl promptly informed her mother about the incident, leading to a police complaint being filed.
Dhananjay Kumar Paswan, the officer in charge of the Kowali police station, stated, “We are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the woman and have alerted nearby police stations. Additionally, we are gathering information from local residents.”
