Former Employee Arrested in Manoj Tiwari's Mumbai Apartment Theft
Theft at Manoj Tiwari's Residence
A significant theft occurred at the Mumbai residence of actor-singer and BJP MP Manoj Tiwari, leading to the arrest of a former employee. Approximately ₹54 lakh in cash was reported stolen from Tiwari's flat located in the Sundarban Apartments in the Shastri Nagar area of Andheri West. The incident was reported to the police following a complaint lodged by Tiwari's manager, Pramod Jogendra Pandey, resulting in the apprehension of Surendra Kumar Deenanath Sharma, who was dismissed from his position nearly two years ago.
Use of Fake Keys in the Burglary
According to police officials, the identification of the suspect was made after reviewing CCTV footage from the residence. Investigations revealed that Sharma allegedly gained access to the flat using counterfeit keys to execute the theft. Pandey, who has been managing Tiwari for the past two decades, reported that ₹54 lakh stored in a room had gone missing. Notably, ₹44 lakh of this amount had disappeared from a cupboard in June 2025, but the perpetrator was not identified at that time.
Ongoing Investigation
To aid in resolving the case, CCTV cameras were installed inside the home in December 2025. Footage recorded on the night of January 15, 2026, captured the former employee stealing cash. The video also indicated that the suspect possessed duplicate keys for the house, bedroom, and cupboard, and he reportedly stole around ₹1 lakh that night. Following the identification from the CCTV footage, the suspect allegedly confessed to his crime. The police were promptly notified, leading to the suspect's arrest by the Amboli police, who also seized the CCTV footage for further investigation.
