Bharatpur: A shocking incident has unfolded in Bharatpur district, Rajasthan, following the death of former BJP legislator Ater Singh Bhadhana. On the evening of October 11, he was reportedly attacked during a dispute at a crusher plant near Bhonda village in the Vair police jurisdiction. Reports indicate that a mob of approximately 70 to 80 individuals assaulted Bhadhana and his associates with sticks and stones.

The former MLA sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Sawai Mansingh (SMS) Hospital in Jaipur, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

It is believed that the altercation stemmed from a long-standing dispute regarding access routes to the crusher plant and mining lease. Tensions had previously escalated between local villagers and the operators of the crusher. According to reports, the crusher plant had been inactive for nearly a year, and attempts were being made to restart operations. This issue led to heightened conflict on Sunday evening, culminating in violent clashes.

At the time of the incident, Ater Singh Bhadhana was present at his crusher plant. A confrontation erupted between the two factions, during which a large group allegedly attacked those present. Alongside Bhadhana, his associate Gagan Sharma was also critically injured. Both were taken to the hospital, but despite efforts, Bhadhana could not be saved due to the severity of his condition.

Bhadhana's wife, Kamlesh Bhadhana, has raised concerns regarding the police and administrative response to the incident. She claims that authorities had been informed about the ongoing dispute related to the crusher plant. Additionally, she alleged that gunfire occurred during the attack, although initial medical reports did not confirm any gunshot wounds. The police are currently investigating the matter to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.

On the other hand, local residents have presented a different perspective on the event. They assert that they were protesting issues related to the crusher and mining activities. According to them, the clash escalated after tensions flared between the two sides on Sunday. Understanding how the incident began and the roles played by each party will be crucial for the investigation.

In light of the unrest following Ater Singh Bhadhana's death, law enforcement has been deployed in the area. Authorities are working to identify those involved in the attack and to clarify what transpired at the scene. Investigations into the allegations of gunfire are also underway. Currently, the verification of claims from both sides will depend on the findings of the investigation.
