Fire Incident in Dwarka: Young Man Jumps from First Floor to Escape Flames
Fire Breaks Out in Dwarka Building
On Saturday, a fire erupted in a building located in Dwarka, South-West Delhi, prompting a 21-year-old man to leap from the first floor, as reported by officials. The police received alerts about the blaze in the parking area of the building at 2:12 PM.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered that the fire was concentrated in the parking lot of the four-story structure, where numerous firefighters were actively engaged in extinguishing the flames. According to officials, Ashish Bhardwaj, a resident of Palam, had stored ready-made garments in the ground floor parking area, which also caught fire.
Bhardwaj maintained a warehouse for ready-made clothes on the first floor. The police indicated that he had received a shipment of clothing worth approximately 70-80 lakh rupees from China on Friday, which was stored in the ground parking area and was completely destroyed in the fire.
An official reported that one of Bhardwaj's employees, Abhishek, jumped from the first floor to escape the flames, resulting in an ankle sprain. Fortunately, there were no reports of other injuries.
A representative from the Delhi Fire Service stated that it took them two hours to bring the fire under control. Firefighters on the scene suggested that the initial cause of the fire appeared to be a spark from a water motor in the parking area. A thorough investigation by the fire department is scheduled for Sunday.
