The Los Angeles County Fire Department reported the incident around 4:30 PM, indicating that the fire started in a hiking zone within Pico Canyon Park, near Magnolia Lane.

The fire rapidly advanced through thick brush on a hillside adjacent to homes. Aerial footage captured firefighters actively working to contain the flames as they approached a cul-de-sac. Two helicopters were dispatched to assist ground crews, who began establishing containment lines to halt the fire's progression.

Additional aerial resources were observed releasing fire retardant onto the hillside as the flames threatened another neighborhood near Jasmine Lane and Summerhill Lane. The cause of the fire is still unknown, and officials are currently investigating the matter.
