In Thane, Maharashtra, a fire broke out in a banquet hall during a wedding ceremony, prompting the evacuation of more than 1,000 guests. Officials reported the incident on Friday, noting that it occurred around 11 PM on Thursday in a hall complex located in the Owala area along Ghodbunder Road.

According to Yasin Tadvi, head of the Thane Municipal Corporation's disaster management department, the fire ignited from decorative materials placed outside a cabin in the lawn of 'The Blue Roof Club' where the wedding was taking place. At the time of the incident, approximately 1,000 to 1,200 guests were present.
Evacuation and Response
Tadvi stated, "As soon as the fire was detected, guests were swiftly evacuated, ensuring there were no casualties." Fire officials emphasized that prompt action and quick evacuation played a crucial role in preventing a major disaster.
Firefighting Efforts
The firefighting operation involved two fire engines, a rescue vehicle, and an auxiliary vehicle. An official mentioned that the fire was brought under control by around midnight. The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.
