The blaze was first noticed around 2:45 PM, with thick black smoke billowing from the warehouse near Bonfield Road, prompting local residents to alert the fire department.

The official indicated that the presence of a large quantity of chemicals inside the warehouse contributed to the rapid spread of the fire. Initially, two fire engines were dispatched to combat the flames, but as the situation escalated, a total of seven vehicles were deployed.

Due to the hazardous materials involved, firefighters opted to use foam instead of water to extinguish the flames.
