In a shocking incident in the Tigri area of Delhi, a father is accused of murdering his unmarried pregnant daughter due to fears of social stigma. Authorities reported the incident on Friday, revealing that both the father and a relative allegedly involved in the crime have been apprehended.

The police received information about the murder on July 31, leading to the registration of a case concerning the abduction and killing of the 18-year-old girl. Investigations revealed that the young woman became pregnant before marriage, which caused her father to fear societal disgrace.

A senior police official stated that driven by this fear, the father conspired with a relative to take his daughter to the banks of the Chambal River near Basoni in Agra, where they allegedly drowned her.
