Mumbai, Sep 11: A quarrel between two friends escalated into a deadly confrontation in Goregaon, Mumbai, when one man was reportedly killed by his friend over the unauthorized use of personal belongings.

The Goregaon Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) identifying the victim as 26-year-old Suraj Dole and the accused as 37-year-old Babasaheb, also known as Subodh Waghmare, who works as an animal caretaker and resides on the footpath in Goregaon West.

This incident occurred on September 9 at approximately 11:30 p.m. near King Studio, across from Utkarsh Small Finance Bank on S.V. Road.

According to a complaint lodged by Dole's father, Shankar Dole, an argument erupted between Dole and Waghmare. Their friend, Sudhanshu Pandey, attempted to mediate and questioned the reason for their dispute.

Waghmare claimed to Pandey that Dole often borrowed his clothes and other items without asking. He further alleged that Dole had taken his bag containing clothes and failed to return it.

The FIR indicates that during the heated exchange, Dole insulted Waghmare, prompting Waghmare to retaliate physically. He then picked up a stone from the ground and struck Dole in the face, inflicting severe injuries that led to bleeding.

Following the assault, Waghmare reportedly fled the scene. Dole was later discovered deceased. The Goregaon Police have initiated legal proceedings under Sections 103(1), 115(2), and 352 of the Indian Penal Code.

In an unrelated case, a 28-year-old man preparing for competitive exams was allegedly kidnapped from Narayan Peth in Pune early Thursday morning. This occurred after two men confronted him regarding his conversation with a female acquaintance of one of them, according to police reports.

The incident was reported around 12:30 a.m. when emergency services received a call about the abduction of Prasad Suryavanshi in a black Scorpio vehicle with registration number MH 12 9696, within the Perugate Police Chowki area.

Responding swiftly, police teams tracked down the vehicle and rescued Suryavanshi, who was reportedly being taken towards Sinhagad Road. Two suspects were apprehended around 1:23 a.m., according to police sources.
