Resolution of Family Trust Dispute

Nearly a year after the passing of businessman Sanjay Kapoor, a resolution has been reached between his wife Priya Sachdev Kapoor and mother Rani Kapoor regarding the ongoing RK Family Trust dispute. The former Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud has been appointed to mediate this high-profile family matter.

According to reports, the Supreme Court bench led by Justices J.B. Pardiwala and Ujjwal Bhuiyan has referred the case for mediation following the agreement of both parties.

During the hearing, the Supreme Court urged all involved to participate in the mediation process with an open mind and to refrain from making public statements or discussing the matter on social media. Justice J.B. Pardiwala emphasized, "This is a family dispute; it should remain within the family and not become a source of entertainment."

This remark was made after Priya Kapoor's lawyer Mukul Rohatgi requested the court to prevent Rani Kapoor from discussing the family dispute on national television.

The bench further clarified, "We want to make it clear that this mediation is strictly limited to the ongoing dispute among family members. All parties are requested not to make any public statements or engage in discussions about this matter on social media. Since this is a family issue, efforts should be made to resolve the dispute as quickly as possible to end the legal battle."

The court also noted that prolonged legal disputes could complicate matters further. Additionally, it stated that it would await the initial report from former Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud before the next hearing.

This legal conflict intensified following Sanjay Kapoor's death when his wife Priya Sachdev Kapoor allegedly presented his will, which was subsequently challenged by Rani Kapoor and the children from Sanjay Kapoor's previous marriage to actress Karisma Kapoor.
