Indigo Flight Halted Due to Bomb Threat

An Indigo flight, designated 6E2111, scheduled to depart from Lucknow to Delhi, was grounded before takeoff due to a bomb threat that turned out to be false. The flight was set to leave at 10:45 AM with approximately 180 passengers on board. Just prior to takeoff, a handwritten note claiming there was a bomb on the aircraft was discovered in the airplane's restroom. Following the discovery, airport officials and security agencies were promptly alerted. Security personnel conducted a thorough inspection of the aircraft in accordance with established safety protocols. During the security check, all passengers were safely evacuated from the plane and taken to a secure area. After an extensive search, authorities confirmed that the bomb threat was entirely unfounded.

Investigation Underway Following Incident

The delay in the flight was attributed to the security procedures that were implemented. Authorities have initiated an investigation to identify the individual responsible for writing and leaving the threatening note. This incident occurred just a day after a similar scare at Kannur International Airport in Kerala, where a note found on an Indigo flight led to a security alert. On Wednesday, the cabin crew of a Mumbai-Kannur Indigo flight mistakenly interpreted a note as a bomb threat, prompting an emergency alert and extensive security measures. The note was discovered in a trash bin in the aircraft's restroom shortly after the flight landed around 3:20 PM. Police reported that the cabin crew informed Air Traffic Control (ATC) and other officials upon finding the note.

Emergency Alert Issued at Airport

An emergency alert was issued at the airport, and the aircraft was taken to an isolation bay for security checks after landing. Bomb and dog squads meticulously examined the plane but found no suspicious items. Subsequently, police stated that the note did not contain any bomb threat, and the cabin crew had misinterpreted its meaning.
