Jaipur, Oct 13: Security forces have discovered a stash of suspected explosives and firearms in the Rawla Mandi region of Sri Ganganagar district, located near the border with Pakistan.

Authorities have detained two individuals from Punjab in connection with this incident, and a search operation is currently in progress in the vicinity.

Initial reports indicate that the consignment was allegedly delivered by a drone from across the border late Monday night.

The seized items reportedly consist of RDX, two handguns, four magazines, approximately 650 rounds of ammunition, four battery pairs, and two remote-control devices.

The precise nature and quantity of the confiscated items have yet to be officially verified.

This operation was executed by teams from the Border Security Force (BSF), the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), and local police, following intelligence reports regarding suspicious packages being dropped near Chak 4 KNM W Tail, under the jurisdiction of Gram Panchayat 12 KND in Rawla.

Officials stated that the ANTF had received a tip-off about three packets being dropped by a suspected drone from Pakistan in a field adjacent to a canal around 10 p.m. on Monday. Initially thought to contain narcotics, the packets were later found to hold weapons and explosive materials. Two suspects were arrested during the operation.

Preliminary details suggest that one suspect hails from Jalandhar, while the other is from Firozpur in Punjab. Investigations are ongoing to ascertain their roles and connections to the consignment.

ANTF Inspector General Vikas Kumar noted that a significant amount of ammunition and suspected explosives had been delivered to Rajasthan via drones. He emphasized that security agencies are probing the origins of the consignment and its intended use.

The investigation is ongoing, and more information is expected to surface as the inquiry continues. The IG confirmed the arrest of two individuals linked to the case.

In response to the recovery, security measures have been intensified in the border area. Ongoing search operations are being conducted in agricultural fields, along canal banks, and in nearby locations to check for any additional suspicious packages or materials.

Investigators are also interrogating the detained individuals to uncover their connections, identify those responsible for the consignment, and determine the intended destination of the weapons and explosives.

A specialized team has been dispatched from Jaipur to analyze the seized materials and ascertain their exact composition and quantity. Security agencies are actively pursuing the investigation, with further updates anticipated.
