Expansion of PNG Connections in Rajasthan: Over 21,000 Families Benefited

Significant Growth in PNG Connections
Jaipur – In just two months, 21,240 families and 240 industrial establishments have been connected to PNG services.
Additional Chief Secretary of Mines and Petroleum, Mrs. Aparna Arora, has instructed city gas distribution companies in the state to issue 20,000 new domestic piped natural gas (DPNG) connections by the end of September. She emphasized the importance of connecting domestic consumers, industrial establishments, and commercial entities to the pipeline gas services. The CGD companies are also encouraged to implement customer-centric incentive programs. This initiative aims to promote environmental protection along with clean, safe, and green energy.
Thanks to the coordinated efforts and regular monitoring by the state government, the CGD companies have successfully connected 21,240 families to DPNG services in the last two months, while also initiating natural gas services for 240 industrial and commercial entities.
During a virtual meeting with the state's CGD companies held at the Secretariat, Mrs. Arora stated that in areas where PNG infrastructure has been developed, coordinated and planned efforts must be made to issue PNG connections to domestic, industrial, and commercial establishments. She directed the companies to conduct awareness programs, set up camps in the regions, and collaborate with local oil marketing companies.
Mrs. Arora also highlighted the need to develop a retailer model in coordination with oil marketing companies.
She reported that a total of 175,000 families have been connected to DPNG services, and 1,553 industrial and commercial PNG connections have been issued. She urged CGD companies to work on decompression units (DCU) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) unit models to further expand PNG services. It is crucial to convey to the public that transitioning from LPG to PNG is inevitable. PNG offers 24/7 availability, eliminates booking issues, and is a safe, clean, and green energy source.
Principal Secretary of General Administration, Mr. Naveen Jain, emphasized prioritizing PNG connections in government quarters located in Gandhinagar, Civil Lines, Vidyadhar Nagar, and Malviya Nagar in Jaipur. He mentioned that land has been allocated for establishing a CDU station in Gandhinagar.
Director of Petroleum, Mr. Awadhesh Singh, stated that the department is coordinating with CGD companies to expand PNG services.
Mr. Vinay Pathani, Managing Director of Rajasthan State Gas, informed that 13 CGD companies are developing PNG infrastructure across 17 geographical areas to provide PNG-CNG services. He provided detailed updates on the progress of CGD companies.
The meeting was attended by Special Secretary of Mines, Mrs. Namrata Vrishni, Joint Director of Petroleum, Mr. Dilip Raj Sharma, Deputy Director, Mr. Sushil Kumar Hudda, Mr. Ankit Soni, Deputy Manager, Mr. Gagandeep Rajoria, Torrent Gas's Mr. Shailesh, and Indian Oil's Mr. Manoj Meena, along with representatives from all CGD companies.
