Koraput: The Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital (SLNMCH) in Koraput is set to increase its MBBS intake by 25 seats, raising the total from 125 to 150.

This change will be implemented starting in the 2027-28 academic year, as confirmed by an official on Saturday. The directive for this increase came from the Centre, which instructed the National Medical Commission (NMC) to proceed with the necessary actions following an order issued on October 29.

“The addition of seats will be contingent upon adherence to all current regulations and requirements,” the official noted. This decision follows a thorough review by the Union government of the application and supporting documents submitted by the medical institution.
