Anticipation for 'Ramayana: Part 1'

The buzz surrounding 'Ramayana: Part 1', one of the most ambitious films in Indian cinema history, has reached new heights. Following its grand world premiere in Los Angeles, the film has garnered significant acclaim from international critics and cinema enthusiasts alike. In India, the path for its theatrical release has been cleared as the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has granted official approval.

A major relief for the filmmakers is that the CBFC has approved the film without any visual or audio cuts, issuing a 'U' certificate. This means that audiences of all ages, including children and seniors, can enjoy this cinematic epic together in theaters, as it has been crafted with utmost respect for mythological traditions and cultural values.

With the certification in hand, speculation regarding the film's official runtime has also been put to rest. The main version set to be shown in Indian theaters has a total duration of 195 minutes, or 3 hours and 15 minutes. The filmmakers opted for this extended runtime to fully explore the intricate narrative of the Ramayana, along with the portrayal of various mythological characters and events. In contrast, the version presented at the Los Angeles premiere was approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes, with some songs trimmed to suit international market standards.

Even before its release, the film is breaking records in terms of box office earnings and advance bookings. Slated to hit theaters in India on November 5, it has already surpassed an impressive ₹50 crore in global advance ticket sales. Record ticket sales are also being reported in major foreign markets, including North America, the UK, and Australia.

Directed by the renowned Nitesh Tiwari, this grand film is a collaborative production between Namit Malhotra's 'Prime Focus Studios' and actor Yash's 'Monster Mind Creations'. The star-studded cast features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, and Arun Govil as King Dasharath.
