Ex-Servicemen League Celebrates Van Mahotsav with Tree Plantation Drive

On Van Mahotsav, the Ex-Servicemen League in Kakira organized a tree plantation drive, where members planted fruit-bearing saplings dedicated to 'Mother.' Led by Captain Puran Singh Thapa, the initiative aims to plant and nurture trees annually. The event also included a pledge to honor the national flag, showcasing the ex-servicemen's commitment to environmental protection and national pride. With around 50 participants, the drive was a spirited celebration of both nature and patriotism.

In celebration of Van Mahotsav, the Ex-Servicemen League unit in Kakira conducted a tree planting event at the Swami Hari Giri Ashram. Each member contributed by planting a sapling that bears fruit, symbolically dedicated to 'Mother.'


The initiative was spearheaded by Captain Puran Singh Thapa, the League President, who encouraged all ex-servicemen to commit to planting at least one tree annually in honor of 'Mother' and on the birthdays of children. They highlighted that their goal extends beyond planting trees; it includes nurturing them until they thrive.


During the event, the Kakira unit also took a meaningful pledge to respect the national flag. The ex-servicemen affirmed their commitment to uphold the dignity of the tricolor, expressing their willingness to sacrifice their lives for the nation's pride and honor.


Approximately 50 ex-servicemen from the Bakkloh region and surrounding areas participated enthusiastically, turning the event into a vibrant celebration of environmental stewardship and patriotism.
