US Military Operations in Iran Confirmed

Washington, Feb 28: President Donald Trump has announced that the United States has commenced significant military operations in Iran, marking a serious escalation in hostilities that has reignited conflict in the region for the second time within eight months. This development raises alarms about a potential broader regional conflict in a geopolitically and economically critical area.

In a coordinated effort, the United States and Israel executed attacks on Iran over the weekend, significantly raising tensions in the Middle East. This situation raises fears of an expanding confrontation with extensive geopolitical and economic ramifications.

In an eight-minute video shared on his Truth Social account, Trump detailed the goals of the military actions.

“Our aim is to protect the American populace by neutralizing imminent threats posed by the Iranian regime, a brutal group of very dangerous individuals,” he stated.

The President accused Tehran of a long history of hostility towards the United States.

“For 47 years, the Iranian regime has shouted, Death to America, and has engaged in a relentless campaign of violence and mass murder, targeting the United States, our military personnel, and innocent civilians in numerous countries,” Trump remarked.

He began his address by recounting what he termed the Islamic Republic’s harmful actions over nearly five decades. “Its threatening activities pose a direct risk to the United States, our troops, our overseas bases, and our allies globally,” Trump added.

While confirming the US military operations, Trump did not explicitly mention that these strikes were conducted in collaboration with Israel.

Labeling Iran as a “very wicked radical dictatorship,” Trump claimed that American forces were focusing on critical military assets.

“We are dismantling their missile capabilities, completely destroying their missile production facilities. We are obliterating their navy and ensuring that their terrorist proxies can no longer pose threats to the region or the world and attack our forces,” he asserted.

Reaffirming Washington’s long-held stance on Tehran’s nuclear ambitions, Trump stated, “We will guarantee that Iran does not acquire a nuclear weapon. It’s a straightforward principle,” while also commending the US armed forces for their involvement in the operations.

He acknowledged the dangers associated with the ongoing conflict.

“My administration has taken every conceivable measure to reduce the risk to US personnel in the area. Nevertheless…the Iranian regime aims to kill. The lives of brave American heroes may be at stake, and we may face casualties -- which is often the reality of war, but we are undertaking this mission, not just for now. We are doing this for the future, and it is a noble cause,” Trump remarked.

In parallel, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz confirmed that Israel had conducted strikes and declared a state of emergency across the nation in light of the rapidly changing security landscape.

This military action follows a month-long buildup of US forces in the region, which occurred after President Trump expressed support for protesters opposing the Iranian regime at the start of January.

In the weeks leading up to the strikes, Trump consistently warned that Iran could face military repercussions if it did not abandon its nuclear program.
