A significant lecture focusing on “Legal Provisions under Road Safety” took place today at Government Arya College, Nurpur, organized under the leadership of Principal Dr. Anil Kumar Thakur. The event was facilitated by the Road Safety Club, with coordination from Dr. Diljit Singh and support from faculty members including Prof. Manjit Singh, Prof. Surjit Kumar, Prof. Surjit Singh, and Dr. Bharti Bhagsen.
Advocate Vishwadeep Singh, representing Nurpur Court, served as the keynote speaker. Prof. Surjit Singh welcomed attendees and outlined the purpose of the program.
During his speech, Advocate Singh elaborated on the legal dimensions of road safety. He stressed the necessity of possessing valid documents such as a driving license, vehicle registration, pollution certificate, and insurance while operating a vehicle. He warned that driving without these essential documents could lead to severe penalties, including hefty fines and potential imprisonment. Additionally, he pointed out that the legal age for obtaining a driving license is 18 years, emphasizing the importance of educating young individuals about traffic laws and safety measures.
Dr. Diljit Singh also spoke to the students, highlighting the critical need for awareness regarding road safety regulations to promote responsible driving.
Approximately 150 students participated in the event, which included an interactive segment where attendees posed questions and received answers. The session concluded with Prof. Manjit Singh expressing gratitude to the chief guest, faculty, and students for their involvement.
