Enhanced Security Measures in Delhi Amid Protests
Increased Security Forces Deployed in Delhi
New Delhi: In response to the protests by the Cockroach People's Party and various political factions, the central government has ordered the deployment of 20 additional companies of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Delhi. Officials provided this information on Wednesday.
According to officials, the Ministry of Home Affairs issued the directive late Tuesday night for the immediate deployment of these companies to the national capital. Subsequently, all these CRPF units are being transported to Delhi by air from West Bengal.
Official sources informed that the deployment of these 20 CRPF companies is crucial for maintaining law and order, especially considering the ongoing session of Parliament and the protests by the Cockroach People's Party and other political groups. The decision comes in light of several violent clashes that have occurred during recent protests.
Sources also noted that these companies were initially stationed in West Bengal for the assembly elections a few months ago and were requested to remain there even after the elections at the state government's behest.
