Heightened Security in Delhi

In response to ongoing protests regarding the NEET paper leak in the national capital, Delhi has implemented stringent security measures around Jantar Mantar and its vicinity. The Delhi police have deployed a significant number of officers and security personnel at key routes leading to Jantar Mantar and four major metro stations nearby as a precautionary measure. This action comes as officials closely monitor the influx of individuals heading towards the protest site. Security forces have been stationed at Rajiv Chowk, Central Secretariat, Patel Chowk, and Barakhamba Road metro stations. According to sources, police teams are observing passenger movements at these stations to assess how many are en route to Jantar Mantar.

Monitoring Crowd Movements

Officials are keeping a close watch on the number of people heading to Jantar Mantar by monitoring the metro stations. This surveillance is part of precautionary security measures aimed at managing crowd movements and maintaining law and order in the area.

Metro Station Closures

Earlier on Monday, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation temporarily closed five stations in the central part of the city ahead of the 'Cockroach People's Party' protest march. Stations including Rajiv Chowk, Janpath, Patel Chowk, Central Secretariat, and Seva Tirth remained closed for most of the day before gradually reopening. Additionally, there were brief service disruptions on the Violet Line due to technical issues, which were later resolved.

Allegations Against Delhi Police

During the protest march on Monday, Abhijit Dipke, a member of the Cockroach People's Party (CJP), accused the Delhi police of "brutality and cruelty." He claimed that officers assaulted student protesters and raised concerns about their actions. Dipke stated to the media, "We witnessed the extent of brutality and cruelty inflicted on the children. They injured 12-year-old girls. This was done by male police officers." He further remarked, "The police uniforms were filled with thugs yesterday." He alleged that during the protest, police personnel mistreated and assaulted young demonstrators.

Multiple FIRs Filed

In the wake of an attack on a Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel during the 'Parliament Chalo' protest march by the Cockroach People's Party (CJP) in New Delhi, the Delhi police have registered over nine FIRs. According to police sources, approximately eight to nine FIRs have been filed in connection with these incidents by Wednesday. An FIR has been lodged concerning the attempted murder of the RAF personnel, and the police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
