Enhanced Monitoring Measures Implemented at Ram Temple Amid Donation Theft Investigation

Strengthened Oversight of Donations at Ram Temple

In light of the alleged theft of offerings at the Ram Temple, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has intensified its monitoring of donations. The trust has initiated a process where every stage of collection and counting is being documented through video recording. Mahant Dinesh Das of the trust shared these updates on Friday.

According to Das, a new system has been in place since July 25, which ensures that the entire process of managing donations—from emptying donation boxes to counting in the designated room—is conducted under continuous camera surveillance.

An eight-member monitoring team has been deployed, and the entire procedure is being recorded using 360-degree cameras. Instead of emptying the approximately 40 donation boxes in one go, they are being emptied on different days. Das explained, 'Before emptying a donation box, the entire process of bringing an empty box from the counting room, placing it, and sealing the filled box is being recorded.'

Two professional videographers have been assigned for this task. The monitoring team comprises two bank employees, two representatives from the trust, two private security personnel, and other staff members. When a filled donation box reaches the counting room, officials from the State Bank of India seal it, adding to the reliability of the process.

He further stated, 'Additional CCTV cameras have been installed in the counting room. Now, not even a single rupee can be misappropriated at the Ram Temple; everything is secure.'

The trust plans to continue improving these measures. Das mentioned that if the administration takes strict action, theft will cease on its own. Regarding recent changes within the trust, he noted that all decisions made in the trust's meetings will be accepted by everyone. He assured that religious traditions, including the Jhula Utsav during the month of Sawan, will continue as before.

Following the alleged theft of donations, a special investigation team has been formed, and several individuals have been arrested as the inquiry progresses.
