Special Provisions for Kanwar Pilgrims

Kaushambi (Uttar Pradesh), August 1 - In a bid to facilitate Kanwar pilgrims, the local police department has announced that sacred Ganga water will be made available at every police station along the Kanwar Yatra route in Kaushambi district. Superintendent of Police Satyanarayan Prajapat shared this information on Saturday, emphasizing the importance of ensuring a safe and convenient pilgrimage experience for devotees.

Prajapat explained that during the Kanwar Yatra, crowds can sometimes lead to accidents or unforeseen circumstances, resulting in the breakage of the Kanwar or spillage of the holy water. To prevent pilgrims from having to abandon their journey, special arrangements have been put in place to respect their religious sentiments and devotion.

In challenging situations, large containers of Ganga water have been sourced from the Sangam in Prayagraj and stored at police stations along the pilgrimage route. This ensures that if any pilgrim spills their Ganga water, they can quickly obtain more from the nearest police station. During the month of Shravan, devotees travel on foot from various locations to offer Ganga water at Shiva temples.

The state government has implemented numerous measures to guarantee a safe, smooth, and convenient Kanwar Yatra this year. The month of Shravan commenced on July 30 and will continue until August 28.
