Endrick Joins Lyon on Loan from Real Madrid for 2025-26 Season

Real Madrid's promising forward, Endrick, has completed a loan transfer to Ligue 1 club Lyon for the 2025-26 season. This move comes as the young Brazilian seeks more playing time after limited opportunities at Madrid. Lyon's announcement featured Endrick celebrating his new role, and he is expected to join the squad soon. Former Real Madrid striker Mariano Diaz has offered advice to Endrick, emphasizing the importance of making the most of this opportunity. As Lyon aims to strengthen their attack, Endrick's performance will be closely monitored by Madrid. This loan represents a significant chance for the young talent to showcase his abilities on a larger stage.

Endrick's Loan Move to Lyon

Real Madrid's young forward, Endrick, has officially joined Ligue 1 club Lyon on loan for the entirety of the 2025-26 season. The Brazilian prodigy is making this move from Santiago Bernabeu in search of more playing time, having faced limited opportunities under coach Xabi Alonso.

Lyon announced the transfer via a social media clip featuring Endrick as he explored festive decorations and donned his new No. 9 jersey at the club's merchandise store. "Christmas has come early," the 19-year-old expressed after finalizing the deal. Importantly, this agreement does not include an option for Lyon to purchase him, ensuring his long-term association with Madrid remains intact.

This season, Endrick has only participated in four matches for Los Blancos across all competitions. He is anticipated to join Lyon's squad starting December 29, although his debut may be postponed. Due to French registration regulations, players must wait four days post-deal processing, meaning the official confirmation will not occur until January 1. Consequently, he will miss Lyon's upcoming league match against Monaco on January 3.

The young talent has already shared his enthusiasm on Instagram, posting "Allez, les Gones" to celebrate the beginning of this new chapter. Fans of Lyon are hopeful that his addition will enhance their offensive capabilities as they aim to improve their position in the Ligue 1 standings.

Former Real Madrid player Mariano Diaz has offered guidance to Endrick regarding his loan experience. In a conversation with a sports publication, Diaz encouraged the young player to seize the opportunity for regular play. He stated, "If Endrick is leaving, or if a player not getting enough minutes goes abroad, I would advise him to fully enjoy it and appreciate the chance to be a starter, as that is the best scenario for him."

Diaz further elaborated, saying, "You must strive to prove yourself when given that trust, as it’s challenging to demonstrate your abilities with just a few minutes every three games. If they believe in you and you start, that’s when you can showcase your potential. If he leaves, there’s always the possibility of returning to Madrid later."

Endrick's loan is viewed as an opportunity to display his skills on a larger platform and regain his career momentum. While Real Madrid will keep a close eye on his development, Lyon now holds the responsibility of providing him with the environment to excel.
