R.S. Bali, the Nagrota MLA and Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC), emphasized the crucial role of youth in national and state development during the ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ event held at the Government College Dharamshala. He engaged with students on topics such as employment opportunities, democratic values, and social engagement.

Bali highlighted Mahatma Gandhi's legacy, noting how he connected with the masses and transformed the freedom struggle into a widespread movement. He stressed that the involvement of young individuals in public life and democratic processes is just as vital today.

Discussing employment initiatives, Bali pointed out that during the administration of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and former Congress president Sonia Gandhi, significant programs like the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) were launched to enhance job opportunities in rural areas. He described MGNREGA as a landmark initiative that legally guarantees employment for rural citizens.

On the topic of youth employment in Himachal Pradesh, Bali expressed his dedication to ensuring that no young person in the state faces unemployment. He encouraged the youth to be aware of their rights and the issues impacting their futures, urging them to voice their concerns.

Bali also referenced electoral commitments made since 2014, including promises related to job creation and financial reforms. He urged young voters to critically evaluate these promises and their actual implementation, encouraging them to form opinions based on factual assessments.

He reiterated that public engagement is fundamental to democracy, calling on young people to actively participate in strengthening democratic institutions and processes. He urged them to unite and advocate for public interest issues.

Expressing gratitude to Youth Congress members and attendees, Bali acknowledged that the strength of any organization lies in its dedicated workers, whose efforts bolster grassroots initiatives.

Inspiring the students and young activists present, Bali encouraged them to pursue their ambitions with resolve and contribute positively to the development of society and Himachal Pradesh.

The event also featured interactions with Rajya Sabha MP Anurag Sharma and Indian Youth Congress National President Uday Bhanu Chib, alongside former Dharamshala Mayor Devendra Jaggi and Youth Congress officials. A significant turnout of students and young activists marked the occasion.
