A significant awareness initiative under the Anti-Chitta Campaign (Phase-2) took place today at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government College, Takipur. The program aimed to educate students and young individuals about the detrimental effects of drug abuse and motivate them to help create a drug-free community.

This event was a collaborative effort between the National Service Scheme (NSS) and the Red Ribbon Club. The Chief Guest, Narendra Nishu Mongra, Chairman of the Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee in Kangra, along with Guest of Honour Dr. R.S. Gill, the college principal, received a warm welcome from the attendees.

During his speech, Mongra encouraged students to steer clear of social vices such as drug use, stating, “The youth is the nation’s most valuable resource, and with proper guidance, they can ensure a prosperous future for society.” He urged students to prioritize education, discipline, and a healthy lifestyle, while also calling on all community members to support the campaign.

Dr. Gill, the Guest of Honour, emphasized the significance of moral values, self-discipline, and positive thinking in leading a fulfilling life.

Throughout the event, NSS volunteers, Red Ribbon Club members, and students collectively took a pledge for a drug-free existence, committing to avoid substance abuse, raise awareness within their families and communities, and contribute to the vision of a Nasha-Mukt Bharat.

The program, conducted on the college grounds, was deemed a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact and enhancing the sense of social responsibility among the students.
