In response to a specific appeal from the Women’s Group of Khani, the Horticulture Department in Bharmour conducted an awareness and training session in the Gram Panchayat Khani, a tribal region.
Dr. Manohar Lal, the Horticulture Officer for Bharmour, was present at the camp, where he emphasized the significance of enhancing the value of local fruits and vegetables. Approximately 50 women participated in this initiative, gaining insights into various departmental programs and receiving training on processing, preservation, and increasing the market value of locally sourced produce to boost their income.
During the event, attendees expressed their desire for the department to organize exposure visits to fruit processing (canning) facilities in the future. The department committed to facilitating such opportunities shortly.
At the end of the camp, the president of the Women’s Group conveyed her appreciation to the Horticulture Department, highlighting that these training sessions are significantly benefiting rural women.
