Health Awareness Rally Marks International Women's Day


Balrampur (Uttar Pradesh), March 8, 2026: In celebration of International Women's Day, the district health department launched a vigorous awareness campaign focused on women's health, empowerment, and rights. The initiative began with a rally from the Chief Medical Officer's office, traversing major city routes to promote messages regarding women's safety, health services, and empowerment.


Following the rally, a special seminar was held at the Chief Medical Officer's office auditorium, presided over by CMO Dr. Mukesh Kumar Rastogi. In his address, Dr. Rastogi emphasized, “The health, safety, and dignity of women are the foundation for the overall development of society. The health department is committed to raising awareness about the health of women and girls. We must work together to ensure that every woman has access to better health services, education, and equal opportunities.”


The seminar saw participation from numerous female healthcare workers, ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers, and officials from the health department. Through the rally, these women took to the streets to raise awareness on issues such as women's health, nutrition, maternal health, girl education, and empowerment. Several health workers who excelled in their roles were also honored with certificates during the event, providing them with further motivation.


Present at the event were Additional Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ajay Kumar Shukla, Dr. Meenakshi Chaudhary, Dr. Santosh Kumar Srivastava, Dr. B.P. Singh, DPM Shivendra Mani Tripathi, and District Health Education Officer Arvind Mishra, along with many other officials and staff from the health department. Together, they called for a positive change in society towards women.
