Palampur — A significant Agriculture Outreach Program took place at the Community Hall in Bhawarna on Friday, organized by the Zonal Office of Punjab National Bank (PNB) in Dharamshala. This initiative aimed to enhance farmers' understanding of financial resources and welfare schemes intended to bolster rural livelihoods.

Mr. Sunil Agarwal, Chief General Manager from PNB’s Head Office, attended the event, emphasizing the bank's dedication to agricultural development. Alongside him were Zonal Head Mr. Sanjay Dhar and Deputy Zonal Head Mr. Bharat Thakur from the Dharamshala Zonal Office, along with agricultural officers who provided guidance on essential schemes.

Farmers were given comprehensive information about various financial assistance programs, such as the Kisan Credit Card (KCC), Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), PM-KUSUM, and Kisan Samriddhi Yojana. The bank also showcased initiatives that support animal husbandry, fisheries, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and numerous social security schemes, reinforcing its mission to promote financial independence and agricultural sustainability.

A notable aspect of the program was the health check-up camp organized by M Swasthya, which aimed to promote health alongside financial empowerment.

This outreach event effectively combined education with accessibility, allowing farmers to engage directly with banking representatives, address their concerns, and apply for various schemes. PNB's message centered on empowering farmers to become self-reliant, informed, and prepared to adopt modern agricultural techniques with solid financial support.

The gathering in Bhawarna illustrated the increasing collaboration between financial institutions and local communities, empowering farmers through knowledge, access, and care.
