A group of India's promising spinners participated in a two-day masterclass at the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru, guided by the legendary Anil Kumble, a former cricketer renowned for his spin bowling. During this event, the emerging talents gained insights from Kumble, who holds the record for the most international wickets by an Indian, focusing on strategies for achieving success in international cricket.

According to a post from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), 'Earlier this month, the Targeted and Emerging Spinners engaged in a two-day masterclass at the BCCI Centre of Excellence with one of India's greatest match-winners with the ball - Mr. Anil Kumble. Kumble's Remarkable Career

Anil Kumble concluded his illustrious cricket career with an impressive record of 619 Test wickets and 337 ODI wickets, making him the highest wicket-taker for India in Tests. His overall international tally stands at 953 wickets, the most by any Indian bowler, and when including his Asia XI wickets, he boasts a total of 956, ranking fourth among all bowlers globally.

In addition to his bowling prowess, Kumble contributed with the bat, scoring 2,506 runs in 132 Tests at an average of 17.77, which includes one century and five half-centuries.

Notably, he achieved the remarkable feat of taking all ten wickets in a single innings against Pakistan in 1999, becoming only the second player in history, after Jim Laker, to accomplish this in a Test match.

Coaching Career and Honors

Kumble also had a brief coaching tenure with the Indian cricket team from 2016 to 2017, during which India secured Test series victories against teams such as the West Indies, New Zealand, England, Bangladesh, and Australia.

In recognition of his contributions to the sport, he was inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame in 2015.
