The Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) reported that emergency teams are tirelessly engaged in efforts to cool and stabilize the tank. They have indicated that two critical scenarios could unfold: the tank might rupture, releasing thousands of gallons of chemicals, or it could lead to an explosion due to a phenomenon referred to as a "thermal runaway" event. In a Sunday afternoon update, OCFA Interim Chief TJ McGovern shared that firefighters conducted a reconnaissance mission on the tank late Saturday night.
