He expressed his concern for the many Americans facing difficulties at airports nationwide, stating, "I would like to offer to pay the salaries of TSA personnel during this funding impasse that is negatively affecting the lives of so many Americans at airports throughout the country."

The financial implications of Musk's offer are considerable, with estimates suggesting that covering TSA officer salaries could exceed $40 million weekly. While this amount is significant for most, it is relatively minor compared to Musk's vast wealth. However, the specifics of how this proposal would be implemented remain uncertain.

Approximately five hours after Musk's announcement, President Trump took a contrasting stance. He suggested on Truth Social that if Democrats did not agree to a funding resolution, he would deploy ICE agents to airports for security duties.

Trump stated, "If the Radical Left Democrats don't immediately sign an agreement to let our Country, in particular, our Airports, be FREE and SAFE again, I will move our brilliant and patriotic ICE Agents to the Airports where they will do Security like no one has ever seen before." He further criticized the Democrats for their handling of the Department of Homeland Security and TSA personnel.
